The Galley, located by Topsham Quay overlooking the Exe estuary, is a comfortable and always popular restaurant. Not surprisingly, given its enviable position, The Galley specialises in serving the very best fish and seafood, landed locally and from nearby South West fishing ports. Mussels from Exmouth are a favourite, as is hand-picked Brixham crab. The selection of fish on the menu changes daily depending on availability and seasonality. Meat lovers and vegetarians are well catered for, too.
Proprietor Nigel Mitchell has many years experience in the hospitality business, including a front-of-house stint at The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow. He has been running The Galley now for the past 8 years , ably assisted by son Patrick. Their aim is for you to enjoy great food and wine served professionally in a relaxed and friendly ambience.
While The Galley is popular for long, lingering dinners and special occasions, it is also the place for a light lunch or business meeting. The set lunch menu is outstanding value.
